i.love.saturday.

Good morning!
Just before I go babysit I want to share with you,
what God shared with me.

He heals the brokenhearted
And binds up their wounds.
He determines the number of the stars;
he gives to all of them their names.
Great is our Lord, and abundant in
power;
his understanding is beyond measure.
--Psalm 147:3-5--

There are things in this life that make me broken.
They break my heart, they seem like the end of the world.
God, takes those, and binds them up.
He is such a good God. He cares for us like no one else will.

When you look up at the sky,
know that God has determined all of those stars
And every.single.one.has.a.name.
Just like us. He has given each of us a name.
And the best part is: He knows who we are.
And a number of us, on a more personal level.

Our God is powerful,
He can create or destroy something so easily.
He can put to shame or bring new life.
His power is unheard of...
My favorite part of this verse, though, is
how it goes on to say...his understanding is beyond measure.
His power is so strong that his understanding
goes beyond anything.
We need not worry when someone
does not understand us,
When we feel alone,
because Jesus does understand.
His understanding goes BEYOND ANYONE OR ANYTHING.

I hope you can reflect on these verses just like me this morning!

have a beautiful saturday!

Hola! Monday Morning has arrived!
It started off a little rainy, but thank goodness that has subsided! (for now at least).
I have been drinking my cup of cafe, and I opened up my journal and started to read the memories from Panama. i.miss.it.so.much.
I literally would do anything to go back right now.
It just reminded me of how much I need to pray for them.

I went on to opening my bible to Psalm 32. I was planning on talking about the rest of the chapter, but I only got a verse further. It is enough for one day.

I will teach and instruct you in the way
you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye upon
you.
//Psalm 32:8\\

God, before the creation of the world, predestined our lives.
He knew he was going to instruct us. He keeps His eyes upon us. He shows us the right vs. the wrong.
And He counsels us.

I am going to just dwell on the verse for today...and let you dwell on it, too!
I'll blog about some thoughts on it later!
Have a wonderful day & week.
hugs and love,

Psalm 32.

this morning i woke up (later for once...930..haha). I got my coffee brewing, I got my Bible and journal out and I read Psalm 32 (or part of it). I was never familiar with this passage before, and I love how the ESV puts it.
Psalm 32:1-7
Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered.
Blessed is the man against whom the Lord
counts no iniquity,
and in whose spirit there is no deceit.
For when I am kept silent, my bones wasted away
through my groaning all day long.
For day and night your hand was heavy
upon me;
my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer.
Selah

I acknowledged my sin to you,
and I did not cover my iniquity;
I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,"
and you forgave the iniquity of my sin.
Selah

 Therefore let everyone who is godly
offer a prayer to you at a time when you
 may be found;
surely in the rush of great waters,
they shall not reach him.
You are a hiding place for me;
you preserve me from trouble;
you surround me with shouts of deliverance.
Selah
--Psalm 32:1-7

This passage encouraged me. It encouraged me to tackle and admit my sin RIGHT after it happens. I remember my bible teacher talking this year, and he said..."You know how after you sin you feel like you have to wait a while until you confess?" --It is SO TRUE! I have felt that way countless times. I feel like I have to wait until the next day...or week...or month...or even year. No, gosh no, right after you sin you can talk directly to God...seeking forgiveness and strength to try harder. I think that is the biggest issue that I had when I was struggling my way through my blotchy part of my life. I was not asking for help right after I did those very things. I was not cleaning my heart right away...I was waiting and letting all of that build up inside of me.

Blessed am I that my sin is forgiven.
Blessed am I.
I cannot rid myself of the wretched power that sin had on me...I cannot rid myself of any of that.
Jesus needs to do that...and blessed am I to have a God who does that.
Blessed am I that I can admit my sin to Him..and takes His hand and He heals that hurt and pain.

:::Also, I want to encourage you to find someone who you can trust...or a couple of people and have them pray for you. It makes such a difference when you admit what you've done to someone else. A huge difference. On the panama mission trip I had the opportunity to do that. It was one of the most freeing experiences ever. It was such a hard thing to say- but the thing is that I did it. It is out there now, and I could never be more happier!
In James it says: "Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another that you may be HEALED. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working." James 5:16
This is the verse that always killed me. I had not told anyone of my deepest, darkest secret.
I would almost die inside every time I read this.
God put the confidence in me to confess to someone else.
I do not think I would be healing the way I am if I hadn't.
Hear me out, TELL SOMEONE ABOUT YOUR SECRETS. You will be rewarded. You will be amazed as to how much someone actually cares about you. You can hold something in as long as you want, but it will kill you. You will try to shove it away...you will try to forget about you...instead of healing from it. You will have a forever hole inside of you. It will not be healed. It needs to be healed.

That is my very long explaination to this mornings' reading.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
I am babysitting a new family today! I am very excited!
Then class bon fire...and class beach day tomorrow! Wahoo!
xoxo,
rebecca

Just because

My dad made this great banner for me! What wonderful parents I have.  So so sweet.  So so kind.

This was a present I inherited from my great friend, Sunni! The actual picture of us was taken this past summer - but, her dad is an artist, and cropped Sunni and I in here because... we're going to the TWINS GAME ON SATURDAY!

Monday night was b-e-a utiful (yeah I know what you're thinking)...
So I went outside for an adventure to take pictures.  I do that often and I like it.  I like it a lot.

Comfy sweatshirt.  Cool chill outside.  Life.  Is.  Good.

People tend to refer to me as a tree huger because yeah, i actually give a crap about recycling and not using too much water... being aware of what we put into our water.  Be nice to his earth!

GRASS IS GREEN!!!! I am loving that! It's shorts season (not tonight, though... tonight's forecast is calling for SNOW.  How pathetic).

I got some new nail polish for my birthday... and I am loving this new pink.  It is adorable.  I also love painting my nails! yay for new nail polish!

I did this amazing thing called taking a nap this afternoon.  It felt way way way amazing.  I dozed off for about a half hour... my alarm went off, I jumped out of bed, and felt way refreshed!

I made myself a cup of coffee to feel happy and energized, and ta da!
Now I'm listening to Pandora Radio + no HOMEWORK.  I do not have classes tomorrow! What a blessing! Tomorrow is the spanish fiesta.  Pictures to come! LOVVVE;; JOYYY;;; PEACE.

Also, Today is the National Day of Prayer.
Even though our President Obama has removed this day from the year, people across the nation have prayed today.  My bible class was consumed with groups praying.  Today is the national day of prayer.  Although, everyday we need to pray.  Everyday we have things to pray about.  Wether it be the sunshine or rain during the day.  Wether it's the hard test score we got on a test.  Wether it's the need for some energy... we have a NEED to pray everyday.

Tonightttt;;;;
-Go to Rainbow- Get Mangoes + Strawberries for tomorrow
-Read The Irresistible Revolution
-Sleep

Tomorrrrrrow;;;
-Spanish Fiesta Day (All day)!!!!
-Daddy comes home!
-Chill night

Saturday;;;

P.S.  If you've never heard of the band "Mayday Parade" check them out! They're great.  My fav song currently by them is:  "The Last Something That Ever Meant Anything."

"I'll be okay (is that what you want me to say?)"

Time for.

It's FRIDAY.  I babysat a rather energetic kid... right after school (actually, I left school early... shhhhh).  Anyway, I babysat a cute, sweet, ADORABLE guatemalan boy.  He was adopted into this sweet and loving family... and he has two older sisters (which are biological to the parents).
Anyway, I was only with the boy today.  But I hung out with the oldest girl when they got home... she just cracks me up.  And also, is by FAR the best gymnast ever.

I needed to run.  This is obviously before my run (don't you LOVE the hot long johns underneath??)
It was a tad bit chilly outside (and around 8pm)... I have this thing about running more @ night.  I just LOVE it.  Anyway, I slipped those on under my shorts, and just wore a t-shirt and the outfit worked perfectly.  Fashionably speaking on the other hand....

Fee && Gary Oliver kept my beat up high, and kept me jogging//running.
Although, throughout my run tonight I needed to stop at least four time to stretch out (get ready for this folks), not my LEFT knee, but my RIGHT knee.  Yeah, let me explain.  Most of you know I had surgery on my left knee (which I am still//almost done with the process of), but ever since my freshman year my right knee has always given me pain.  I noticed it my 08 soccer season in 9th grade during a game my first week of school.  I told my coach day after day.... my knee was in pain.  He told me to ice it, 20 on 20 off... I did it.  Every day.  And yet this pain never went away.  I'm thinking I may have tendonitis or something... but anyway going back to the doc for that one soon (even though they haven't necessary diagnosed it in the past).
All in all, it was a good mile and a half run in under 15 minutes! I loved every minute of it... even when I was in pain.  Good news though, my left knee is feeling amazing! No pain, and physical therapy is almost DONE!

Well I grabbed some potassium after my run... but I promise you, I'm part monkey.  I eat so many bananas on a daily basis it's unheard of.  I had a banana for breakfast + dannon plain yogurt with organic granola (my fav) + a glass of soy milk.  I had an english muffin with peanut butter & banana on top + a yo crunch yogurt + cheese its.  My after school snack:  organic milk + a small bowl of easy mac (:
Dinner: bowl of thai coconut curry with shrimp with my mom.  After my run: banana with peanut butter.
I.  Am.  Half.  Monkey.

Well, it is TIME FOR REST.  I have been so tired this week with these horrific allergies && trying to get rid of them with enormous amounts of homework... I don't think so.  So tonight is my night to just SLEEP.  Then tomorrow morning I am starting off my day with a good cup of coffee, and I am planning on cleaning my area of the house (aka the downstairs//vacuuming all the house... I love nothing more than a clean house, call me crazy).

Happy Friday to you all!
Peace kids,
Reb

Oatmeal + Oj + Coffee = Unsatisfying hunger & unending smiles

I disdained when my 2nd alarm went off this morning (I kept pressing snooze until I needed to dismiss the alarm).  When I finally got out of my bed (6:30), I jumped into the shower for a quick 6 minute shower.
I blow dried my hair, straightened half of it and then headed up stairs for some breakfast.
Without thought I grabbed the oatmeal this morning.  It was delicious with a glass of orange juice this cloudy morning.
I headed back down stairs and straightened the rest of my hair, brushed my teeth, and grabbed my drama script.
I made my morning coffee, and I was out the door.

We were driving behind one of my good friends all morning... that was a fun surprise.
School went slow, but it went fast.  It was GREAT to see everyone... some with tans, many with hair cuts, and teachers with beards.  Talk about what break does to people...

After school today, I had drama practice for two hours (3-5pm).
That went well.  It didn't seem very long at all.
Although, I had an unsatisfying hunger this afternoon.  UNSATISFYING.  It was horrific!
Oatmeal is supposed to fuel and satisfy you for the day... not make you hungry! And I had a very grain rich lunch (English muffin w//peanut butter + banana on top, Cashews + other nuts, white popcorn, chocolate milk, + one hershey kiss).  What is with my stomach today?  Growth spirt? In the 10th grade? We'll see...

And now, I have math homework to tackle (LCF + Fractions)... JOY.
And also a History test on Friday over World War II.
Tomorrow is Wednesday, and life is good.
My knee is doing much better from last night if you were wondering... It still took me a while to fall asleep after I had numbed it with ice.  I finally got to sleep though... nights like that happen.

Happy Terrific Rainy Tuesday + a cup of cider!
love & hope always!

Late night owiee

Well here I am.  I was all ready for bed early... I have to go back to school tomorrow.
Read some of my book (Velvet Elvis), and I started to shut my eyes to go to sleep.
Pain.
My knee.
What's going on?
My knee has been doing so well.
And right now... it has to break out into pain.
I don't know what I did wrong.
I don't know why it's in such excruciating pain.
But here I am... watching the Twins game, and icing my knee.
Great night.

There's always room to smile, though.
I can be happy.  It's the bottom of the 5th inning... Twins tied it up on the top of the 5th... Three to Three!!!!! Go Minnesota!!!!!!

Well, all I'm asking if you're reading this tonight.... that you'd pray this pain subsides.
I'd like to get to bed.  An hour ago.
God is good all the time though.... All I'm going to say is tomorrow is definietly going to be a coffee morning if this doesn't stop.  It's hurting, but it's okay... I'm just asking for prayer for it to stop or numb up for the night... I can deal with it better tomorrow(:

Tomorrow's schedule:
::Dad leaves on business until Wed
::School
::Two hour drama practice
::Home & Homework//Work on History test for Friday
::Dinner with the mom
::SLEEP

Love and peAcE,
